Specification
The open specification for multi-agent coding topologies. These formats are tool-independent — any control plane can implement them.
New to the concepts? Start with the mental model walkthrough.
The vocabulary. Every term defined — model, agent core, harness runtime, rig, pod, topology, and more.
Portable single-agent blueprint. Skills, guidance, hooks, profiles, startup, lifecycle.
Declarative multi-agent topology. Pods, members, edges, continuity policies.
Portable archive. RigSpec + vendored AgentSpecs + integrity checksums.
About this specification
These formats are proposed as an open standard for the agent engineering community. The goal is a shared vocabulary and portable artifact formats that any tool can implement — the same way Dockerfiles are readable by any container runtime.
OpenRig is one implementation. The specification is independent of it.
